Hey grade 4s

As we continue with geometry, we will also discuss triangles. Triangles are amazing shapes and they are very important in our lives. We use them all the time in everything from food, to buildings, to ice cream 🙂 As we learn about triangles it’s also important that we are able to classify them. After today’s class make sure you take a few minutes to review what we learned. It will definitely come in handy, especially when we have our pizza party!

Happy Learning!

Beep beep bo bop! Hear that? That’s the sounds of robots invading our classroom!!! Wow what a day we had and I am so proud of each and every one of you! Who knew that all that creativity was hiding in those minds! As we move on with our unit in quadrilaterals we had a chance to do a fun art activity and here I can share it with your parents!

Parents! The students had to create a robot using only the quadrilaterals discussed in class. They had to be quite creative with their designs and we did both a rough copy and a good copy. They had to figure out how different shapes fit together, and how quadrilaterals could be used to create the illusion of new shapes. At the end, they also had to count and see how many of each quadrilateral they used! The end result was amazing and our class is filled with all their work.

Now off to do the robot dance! R2D2 style!

Hey kids

With our new unit on quadrilaterals it’s important for us to review all the information we have learned over the years. This week’s lesson will focus on that. I think we’re going to have a great conversation and really find out what everyone remembers from the past! If you miss the lesson or don’t get a copy of the worksheet, I am posting a great one below! It’s going to be a great unit full of lots of interesting activities and assignments, hope you have your thinking caps on!

Happy Learning
